Region 4 Newsletter From Your Director... Summer, 2009 I hope you are enjoying lots of fun activities with your horses and your friends this summer. Like many shows throughout the country, our Region 4 show was down in numbers, but it certainly wasn 't lacking in quality. The classes had many past and future National Champions. The final numbers aren't available at this time because the Oregon State Fairgrounds bill has not been received. The show commission is already planning for some belt-tightening measures for next year. As an example, we may see fewer age splits in order to keep the class sizes profitable. It 's a great year for trail rides. My daughter and I participated in the Emerald Valley club ride recently, and AHBAO has their annual ride and campout planned for next weekend. In April, my husband, Gary and I went on the AHA sponsored ride at the V6 ranch in southern California. I can 't say enough good things about that experience. You can read about it in the current AHA magazine. To keep abreast of happenings at the top level of AHA, your most accurate source of information is the Board Meeting minutes.
